A feature documentary about dreaming big…
Christy Tengs Fowler has been chasing a dream of being a songwriter from an early age. That dream brought her to Nashville, where she was offered a job as a songwriter for CBS Publishing. Right as her career was poised to take off, Christy is called back to her home in Haines, Alaska, to help run the family business, The Bamboo Room Restaurant and Pioneer Bar. It was supposed to be temporary, but decades later and Christy is still running, and living above, the struggling business.
While counting the tills every day, Christy watched Dr. Phil, and was hooked on his good ol' boy aphorisms. For the first time since Nashville, Christy starts writing music again, only this time it’s country songs based on Dr. Phil’s words. And with it, a new dream emerges: to get Dr. Phil himself to hear her music.
